Marion Stevenson was born in Oshawa, Ontario and started painting in oils at the age of 17. Always intrigued by watercolours, she began exploring the medium in 1982.
Marion immediately fell in love with the flow and excitement of watercolours, and found it the venue through which she could best express herself as an artist. Her paintings reflect her love of flowers, heritage buildings and the Ontario landscape.
Marion has studied with several well known Canadian and American Watercolourists.
By request, she has taught in Ontario and the U.S. In summer, she holds workshops in Muskoka, and in the winter, she teaches in Durham region where she resides.
In addition to her very popular watercolours, Marion has recently introduced Acrylics on canvas to her repertoire… these are proving to be immensely successful in the galleries. Marion loves the vibrant colours and mood she can create with the acrylic paints and is enjoying and excited by the new direction her work is taking her….
Marion’s work can be found in countless shows and has been awarded in several juried exhibits. Her paintings are shown in galleries in Ontario and in many private, public and corporate collections, both nationally and internationally.
Marion is represented by Auburn Gallery in Gravenhurst.
